The Apostles of Christ built the church by inviting people to come to Christ and building people up in Christ. They did so in large public gatherings and small, more personal clusters of people.

Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ. Acts 5:42

We believe that these Small Groups of people played, and continue to play, an important role in the development of the things necessary for churches to mature and grow.

PURPOSES SMALL GROUPS SERVE

Utilization
Utilize Everyone To Accomplish God's Purpose. The church is called to participate in one of God's unchanging purposes -- advancing His Kingdom throughout our world. This is best done by sharing the Gospel in a contemporary and relational manner. Small Groups help us to fulfill God's purpose and requires all of us pitching in and working together.

Organization
Organizing workers seems at times to be an overwhelming task, yet it is necessary if the “Body” is going to work together. That's where Small Groups come into the picture. Small Groups provide a forum for community, discipleship, and outreach -- all vital facets of advancing God's Kingdom.

Small Groups of 6-12 people gather weekly in homes and apartments throughout our community. These group meetings provide an ideal environment for partnering together by growing in committed relationships, pursuing Christian maturity, and impacting our world. These Small Groups become TEAMS of players working together.

Community
Through Christ working in us, we are able to minister to one another in our Small Group meetings. Biblical fellowship occurs when we love and serve each other letting God’s love shine. While we worship God on Sunday mornings, we also worship Him in our daily lives and in our interactions with each other.

Development
Small Groups provide an ideal environment for us to strengthen and encourage one another as we grow in Christ.

Our Bible studies and prayers help us to grow in keeping our focus on God and in our commitment to God.
Our inviting of visitors keeps us looking for people with whom we can share the Gospel.
Our time spent with other Christians in Small Group meetings and ministry opens the door to spiritually rich relationships.

These areas of growth are difficult to produce on our own but can more naturally emerge as an outworking of the life of Small Groups.

Outreach
Study after study has shown that those who come to the Lord through relationships are far more likely to go on with God than those who were brought to Christ in other ways. Small Groups provide an excellent way to relationally reach out to relatives, friends, and work associates as the Small Group members intercede, reach out, and serve them in love.
